45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
67 the tragic loss of Heath Abram Faucheux of Hallsville, who died on
78 August 5, 2017, at the age of 16; and
89 WHEREAS, Born in Effingham, Illinois, on March 20, 2001,
910 Heath was the son of Dion and Michelle Faucheux and the brother of
1011 Nathan and Trent; as a student at Hallsville High School, he was
1112 active in the National Honor Society, the Hallsville Bobcat Band,
1213 and the Hallsville Math Science Team, and he was excited to compete
1314 in academic UIL events, where he earned a number of medals; in
1415 addition, he obtained a first-degree black belt in tae kwon do and
1516 had recently gotten certified as an American Red Cross lifeguard;
1617 and
1718 WHEREAS, Mr. Faucheux was especially passionate about his
1819 involvement in the Boy Scouts; joining the organization as a Tiger
1920 Cub, he received the prestigious Arrow of Light Award, and he looked
2021 forward to completing a service project for the Tyler Discovery
2122 Center to earn his Eagle Scout badge; an outstanding leader among
2223 his fellow scouts, he enjoyed teaching first aid and other survival
2324 skills to younger peers, and he enthusiastically took on activities
2425 like kayaking, archery, sailing, and mountain climbing during his
2526 many adventures in the organization; and
2627 WHEREAS, Imaginative and creative, Mr. Faucheux loved music,
2728 and in addition to the French horn he played in his school's band,
2829 he played the piano, the harmonica, and the trumpet; he was a
2930 cherished son, brother, and friend, and he delighted those around
3031 him with his charm and his entertaining, often unpredictable
3132 antics; and
3233 WHEREAS, Although the passing of this remarkable young man is
3334 an immeasurable loss to his loved ones, their lives were forever
3435 enriched by the happy times they shared with him, and he will always
3536 hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
3637 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
3738 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
3839 of Heath Abram Faucheux and extend deepest condolences to all those
3940 who mourn his passing; and, be it further
4041 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4142 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4243 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Heath
4344 Faucheux.
