| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |

| 6 | 7 | | the tragic loss of Heath Abram Faucheux of Hallsville, who died on |

| 7 | 8 | | August 5, 2017, at the age of 16; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Effingham, Illinois, on March 20, 2001, |

| 9 | 10 | | Heath was the son of Dion and Michelle Faucheux and the brother of |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Nathan and Trent; as a student at Hallsville High School, he was |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | active in the National Honor Society, the Hallsville Bobcat Band, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and the Hallsville Math Science Team, and he was excited to compete |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | in academic UIL events, where he earned a number of medals; in |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | addition, he obtained a first-degree black belt in tae kwon do and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | had recently gotten certified as an American Red Cross lifeguard; |

|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Faucheux was especially passionate about his |

| 18 | 19 | | involvement in the Boy Scouts; joining the organization as a Tiger |

| 19 | 20 | | Cub, he received the prestigious Arrow of Light Award, and he looked |

| 20 | 21 | | forward to completing a service project for the Tyler Discovery |

| 21 | 22 | | Center to earn his Eagle Scout badge; an outstanding leader among |

| 22 | 23 | | his fellow scouts, he enjoyed teaching first aid and other survival |

| 23 | 24 | | skills to younger peers, and he enthusiastically took on activities |

| 24 | 25 | | like kayaking, archery, sailing, and mountain climbing during his |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | many adventures in the organization; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Imaginative and creative, Mr. Faucheux loved music, |

| 27 | 28 | | and in addition to the French horn he played in his school's band, |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | he played the piano, the harmonica, and the trumpet; he was a |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | cherished son, brother, and friend, and he delighted those around |

| 30 | 31 | | him with his charm and his entertaining, often unpredictable |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | antics; and |

| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Although the passing of this remarkable young man is |

| 33 | 34 | | an immeasurable loss to his loved ones, their lives were forever |

| 34 | 35 | | enriched by the happy times they shared with him, and he will always |

| 35 | 36 | | hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 36 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
