| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Shelby Brainard of Boy Scouts of America Troop |

| 6 | 7 | | No. 155 in Georgetown has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |

| 7 | 8 | | accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor |

| 9 | 10 | | bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting |

| 10 | 11 | | movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, |

| 11 | 12 | | Mr. Brainard earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully |

| 12 | 13 | | completed an Eagle Scout project, which involved the rejuvenation |

| 13 | 14 | | of two play areas at First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown; and |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |

| 15 | 16 | | leadership ability throughout his scouting career, serving twice as |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | patrol leader and winning the respect and admiration of his fellow |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | troop members as he worked toward the highest rank that the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | organization offers; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A 2017 graduate of East View High School, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Mr. Brainard was captain of the debate team and a member of the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | National Honor Society; he has further distinguished himself as a |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | three-year participant in the Williamson County Teen Court, and he |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | gained valuable experience as a page in the United States Senate; he |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | plans to attend Princeton University in the fall; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Brainard's dedication to excellence and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |

| 27 | 28 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
