| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Friends and family will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Leona Pauline Dunbar Erekson, who passed away on July 9, 2017, at |

| 7 | 8 | | the age of 85; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born to Ned and Mary Leech Dunbar on November 9, |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | 1931, in Del Rio, the former Pauline Dunbar grew up with her |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | brother, Allan, on a ranch between Del Rio and Rocksprings; after |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | graduating from Rocksprings High School in 1949, she continued her |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | education at Texas Tech University, and she later moved to Dallas to |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | study photography; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, While in Dallas, she met her future husband, Bob |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Erekson, whom she wed on August 2, 1953; the couple became the proud |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | parents of two children, Paula and Ronny, and with the passing |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | years, they were further blessed with seven grandchildren, Walt, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Karrah, Naomi, Ruth, Anna, Abigail, and Rebekah, and three |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | great-grandchildren, Tilden, Emilie, and AnnElise; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Erekson pursued several careers over the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | course of her life, working for such diverse employers as the ASCS |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | office, Rocksprings schools, and the Edwards County Hospital; she |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | spent more than three decades with the Edwards County EMS as a |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | medic, board member, and historian, and she also ran a flower and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | gift shop with her daughter for a time; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Erekson was a Sunday |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | school teacher and a valued member of the Order of the Eastern Star, |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | and she gave photography lessons through the local 4-H club; and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Pauline Erekson led a life filled with joy and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | purpose, and she leaves behind a record of service that her loved |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 33 | 34 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |

| 34 | 35 | | of Leona Pauline Dunbar Erekson and extend heartfelt sympathy to |

| 35 | 36 | | her relatives and many friends; and, be it further |

| 36 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
