| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Jimmie |

| 6 | 6 | | Clayton Harrison of Bryans Mill, who passed away on May 17, 2017, |

| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 61; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Jimmie and Thelma Harrison, "Clay" |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Harrison was born on October 29, 1955, in Naples, Texas; he |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | earned his bachelor's degree at East Texas State University and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | later graduated from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | at Southern Methodist University; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan enjoyed a successful career |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in the banking industry; he was associated with Morris County |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | National Bank in Naples for 38 years, including 15 years as its |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | president, and he was employed at American National Bank of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Mount Pleasant at the time of his passing; he was also a lifelong |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | rancher; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Harrison gave back to his community through |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | his service as president of the Paul Pewitt School Board and his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | involvement with the Naples-Omaha Lions Club and the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Naples-Omaha Ambulance Association; a man of strong faith, he |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | attended Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and taught Sunday school; in his spare time, he enjoyed taking |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | part in such outdoor activities as camping and fishing; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, On June 17, 1978, Mr. Harrison married the former |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Barbara Gunter, and the couple enjoyed a rewarding union that |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | spanned38years;theywereblessedwiththreechildren, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Miranda, Holly, and Clifton, and four grandchildren, Calli, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Natalie, Tenley, and Taylor; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Clay Harrison led a caring and purposeful life, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and all those who shared in his love and affection will forever |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | of Jimmie Clayton Harrison and extend heartfelt sympathy to his |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | family and many friends; and, be it further |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do |
|---|
