| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk, who has been named |

| 4 | 4 | | the recipient of the Tom Tellepsen Award by the Sheriffs' |

| 5 | 5 | | Association of Texas; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious honor is awarded each year to a |

| 7 | 7 | | person who makes outstanding contributions to law enforcement |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and whose love of the profession and dedication to its principles |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | go beyond ability; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Sheriff Kirk has handled |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the unique responsibilities of law enforcement duty with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | public service; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, he has made invaluable contributions |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | to his profession through his service as president of the Western |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | States Sheriffs' Association and the Sheriffs' Association of Texas; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | he has also been a staunch supporter of the Scotty's House child |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | advocacy center; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary peace officer, he is respected and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | admired by his colleagues and by area citizens, and it is truly |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | fitting that he receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Sheriff Chris |

| 24 | 24 | | Kirk on his exceptional service to the people of Brazos County |

| 25 | 25 | | and extend congratulations to him on receiving the Tom Tellepsen |
