11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 113
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk, who has been named
44 the recipient of the Tom Tellepsen Award by the Sheriffs'
55 Association of Texas; and
66 WHEREAS, This prestigious honor is awarded each year to a
77 person who makes outstanding contributions to law enforcement
88 and whose love of the profession and dedication to its principles
99 go beyond ability; and
1010 WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Sheriff Kirk has handled
1111 the unique responsibilities of law enforcement duty with
1212 courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to
1313 public service; and
1414 WHEREAS, Over the years, he has made invaluable contributions
1515 to his profession through his service as president of the Western
1616 States Sheriffs' Association and the Sheriffs' Association of Texas;
1717 he has also been a staunch supporter of the Scotty's House child
1818 advocacy center; and
1919 WHEREAS, An exemplary peace officer, he is respected and
2020 admired by his colleagues and by area citizens, and it is truly
2121 fitting that he receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
2323 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Sheriff Chris
2424 Kirk on his exceptional service to the people of Brazos County
2525 and extend congratulations to him on receiving the Tom Tellepsen
2626 Award; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2828 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
