| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay |

| 3 | 3 | | tribute to James Rothermel on the grand occasion of his 99th |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman is well known for |

| 6 | 6 | | his charm and his generosity of spirit, and he and his wife, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Dorothy, are revered residents of Brenham; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rothermel was born on August 20, 1918; he is a |

| 9 | 9 | | beloved and respected member of his community, and the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | celebration of his 99th birthday is an occasion for much |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | rejoicing among his family and friends; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rothermel has witnessed many historic events |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | over the course of his lifetime, and he has shared fascinating |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | accounts from days gone by; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, He is noted for his accomplishments and his |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest, and his family and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | friends truly appreciate the joy he has brought to their lives; |

| 18 | 18 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby recognize James Rothermel |

| 21 | 21 | | as a treasured citizen of this state and extend to him |

| 22 | 22 | | congratulations on his 99th birthday; and, be it further |
