| 5 | 5 | | Entrepreneurship Conference; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Academy of Entrepreneurs recognizes |

| 7 | 7 | | professionals in the northeast region of Texas who have |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | demonstrated initiative and perseverance in creating and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | nurturing their businesses; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A 1980 graduate of Texas A&M University--Commerce, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Mr. Walker has enjoyed a successful career; in 1999, he and a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | partner purchased East Texas Typewriter, a typewriter repair |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | shop in Tyler that at the time employed seven people; under his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | dynamic leadership, this 20th century legacy business became |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | East Texas Copy Systems, a comprehensive business technology |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | company with 68 employees at locations in Tyler, Longview, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Lufkin; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, East Texas Copy Systems began by selling copiers |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and computer printers, and it has since expanded into providing |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | managed IT services, VoIP phone systems, document management, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and data backup solutions to customers in 24 counties; the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | business, which was named Large Business of the Year by the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Better Business Bureau of Central East Texas in 2017, opened a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Customer Care Center to offer immediate remote customer |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | support; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, A leader in his industry, Mr. Walker is vice |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | president of the International Business Products board of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | directors, and he has served on the Canon Dealer Advisory Council |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and on the boards of the Copier Dealers Association and the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Better Business Bureau of Central East Texas; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Walker's acumen and enthusiasm have not only |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | ensured the success of his enterprise, but they have also earned |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | him the respect and admiration of his peers, and he may indeed |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | take great pride in this significant honor; and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Walker is blessed with |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | the love and encouragement of his wife, Kris, and takes great |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | pride in his children Kaylee Bryan, wife of Connor Bryan, Kenzie |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Smith, wife of Blake Smith, Micah Walker and wife Kaleigh Walker, |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | and son Maselyn Walker as well as his six grandchildren; now, |

| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 42 | 42 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Greg Walker |
