5	5	WHEREAS, No words can soften the pain of a life cut short,
6	6	but the family and friends of Heath Abram Faucheux of Hallsville
7	7	may find comfort in their memories of this beloved young man,
8	8	who passed away on August 5, 2017, at the age of 16; and
9	9	WHEREAS, The son of Dion and Michelle Faucheux and brother
10	10	of Nathan and Trent Faucheux, Heath Faucheux was born in
11	11	Effingham, Illinois, on March 20, 2001; he attended Hallsville
12	12	High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society
13	13	and played French horn in the Hallsville Bobcat Band; in addition,
14	14	he enjoyed making music at the piano or on the harmonica, and he
15	15	recently taught himself to play trumpet; his musical tastes were
16	16	broad, ranging from jazz and show tunes to classic hits and
17	17	Christian songs; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Mr. Faucheux was a member of the Hallsville Math
19	19	Science Team and competed in Academic University Interscholastic
20	20	League from sixth grade onward; athletic as well, he earned a
21	21	first-degree black belt in tae kwon do and lifeguard certification
22	22	from the American Red Cross; his greatest enthusiasm was
23	23	scouting, and he excelled in the movement from his days as a Tiger
24	24	Cub, earning the Arrow of Light and nearing completion of his
25	25	Eagle Scout requirements; a natural leader, he set an example of
26	26	kindness, courtesy, and integrity; he enjoyed teaching skills to
27	27	younger scouts, and he was a staff member for National Youth
28	28	Leadership Training Camp, Cub Day Camp, and Camporee, as well as
29	29	senior patrol leader, guide, and bugler for his own troop; his
30	30	sense of adventure found an outlet in mountain climbing, knee
31	31	boarding, canoeing, sailing, swimming, and many other outdoor
32	32	activities; and
33	33	WHEREAS, Uncommonly mature and observant for his age,
34	34	Heath Faucheux demonstrated a high degree of empathy, and he
35	35	reached out to those who were shy or uncertain; his smile, sense
36	36	of humor, and wildly creative ideas brightened the days of
37	37	everyone he encountered; although the loss of one so full of
38	38	promise brings immeasurable heartache, those he leaves behind
39	39	will forever cherish the precious years they shared with him;
40	40	now, therefore, be it
41	41	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
42	42	Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life
43	43	of Heath Abram Faucheux and extend deepest condolences to all who
44	44	mourn his passing; and, be it further
45	45	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
46	46	his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
47	47	so in memory of Heath Abram Faucheux.
