55 WHEREAS, No words can soften the pain of a life cut short,
66 but the family and friends of Heath Abram Faucheux of Hallsville
77 may find comfort in their memories of this beloved young man,
88 who passed away on August 5, 2017, at the age of 16; and
99 WHEREAS, The son of Dion and Michelle Faucheux and brother
1010 of Nathan and Trent Faucheux, Heath Faucheux was born in
1111 Effingham, Illinois, on March 20, 2001; he attended Hallsville
1212 High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society
1313 and played French horn in the Hallsville Bobcat Band; in addition,
1414 he enjoyed making music at the piano or on the harmonica, and he
1515 recently taught himself to play trumpet; his musical tastes were
1616 broad, ranging from jazz and show tunes to classic hits and
1717 Christian songs; and
1818 WHEREAS, Mr. Faucheux was a member of the Hallsville Math
1919 Science Team and competed in Academic University Interscholastic
2020 League from sixth grade onward; athletic as well, he earned a
2121 first-degree black belt in tae kwon do and lifeguard certification
2222 from the American Red Cross; his greatest enthusiasm was
2323 scouting, and he excelled in the movement from his days as a Tiger
2424 Cub, earning the Arrow of Light and nearing completion of his
2525 Eagle Scout requirements; a natural leader, he set an example of
2626 kindness, courtesy, and integrity; he enjoyed teaching skills to
2727 younger scouts, and he was a staff member for National Youth
2828 Leadership Training Camp, Cub Day Camp, and Camporee, as well as
2929 senior patrol leader, guide, and bugler for his own troop; his
3030 sense of adventure found an outlet in mountain climbing, knee
3131 boarding, canoeing, sailing, swimming, and many other outdoor
3232 activities; and
3333 WHEREAS, Uncommonly mature and observant for his age,
3434 Heath Faucheux demonstrated a high degree of empathy, and he
3535 reached out to those who were shy or uncertain; his smile, sense
3636 of humor, and wildly creative ideas brightened the days of
3737 everyone he encountered; although the loss of one so full of
3838 promise brings immeasurable heartache, those he leaves behind
3939 will forever cherish the precious years they shared with him;
4040 now, therefore, be it
4141 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
4242 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life
4343 of Heath Abram Faucheux and extend deepest condolences to all who
4444 mourn his passing; and, be it further
4545 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
4646 his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
4747 so in memory of Heath Abram Faucheux.
