| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Captain Audra Clinton Livingston is retiring from |

| 3 | 3 | | the Texas Department of Public Safety in August 2017, drawing to |

| 4 | 4 | | a close a notable tenure with the department that has spanned |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | more than three decades; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Audra Livingston entered the department's recruit |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | school in January 1985, and following graduation, he began his |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | first assignment in Huntsville; promoted to sergeant in 1994, he |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | continued to rise steadily through the ranks, earning promotion |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | to lieutenant in 1996 and captain in 2002; over the years, he has |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | served the agency as a leader and mentor in a number of Texas |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | cities, including San Augustine, McAllen, Marshall, Lubbock, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Tyler; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, An alumnus of San Augustine High School, Captain |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Livingston holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Stephen F. Austin State University; he also completed a police |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | command staff program at the Northwestern University Center for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Public Safety; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Captain Livingston has |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Mary, and of his three |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | children, Kristin, Audrey, and Jacob; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Audra Livingston's expertise, professionalism, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and devotion to the core values of the Texas Department of Public |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Safety have greatly benefited the citizens of Texas, and he may |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he embarks on |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Captain |

| 29 | 29 | | Audra Clinton Livingston on the occasion of his retirement from |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the Texas Department of Public Safety and extend to him sincere |
