SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 2 In Memory of John L. Carwile Jr. WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the passing of John L. Carwile Jr. of Hughes Springs on December 3, 2016, at the age of 73; and WHEREAS, Born to John and Rhena Mae Carwile on January 18, 1943, John Carwile Jr. grew up with the companionship of his three siblings, Roger, Gwyndyl, and Lyndyl; he enjoyed a successful career in the iron industry and held membership in the ironworkers union for more than half a century; and WHEREAS, Mr. Carwile was the proud father of two children, Kenny and Kristy, and over the years, he watched his treasured family grow to include four grandchildren, Alex, Dylan, Abbygail, and Kaeden; an avid outdoorsman, he counted fishing and hunting among his favorite pastimes, and he had a passion for muscle cars; and WHEREAS, Although John Carwile is greatly missed, those who were fortunate enough to share in his warmth and friendship will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of John L. Carwile Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his children, Kenny Carwile and Kristy Carwile and her wife, Kristen; to his grandchildren, Alex, Dylan, Abbygail, and Kaeden Carwile; to his brother, Roger Carwile, and his wife, Carolyn; to his sister, Gwyndyl Fenton, and her husband, Jerry; to his dear friend, Johnny Morehead; and to all those who mourn his passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John Carwile.
