| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Isauro and |

| 3 | 3 | | Catalina Farias made a lifetime commitment to one another, and |

| 4 | 4 | | their mutual trust has been amply rewarded, for they are now |

| 5 | 5 | | celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Isauro and Catalina met while he was on leave from |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | his post in Fort Crowder, Missouri, where he was stationed in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | service to the United States Army; they were married at Our Lady |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of Guadalupe Church on June 25, 1951; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably in the years of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Farias have continued to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | cherish the traditional values that helped inspire their bond |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | long ago; the couple reaffirmed their commitment to each other in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 2011, when they traveled to Israel and renewed their wedding |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | vows; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Isauro and Catalina have been blessed with a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | wonderful family; their three children, seven grandchildren, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | nine great-grandchildren have been a source of immense pride and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | joy; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Farias are beloved members of their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | community, and they are gathering with friends and family on June |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 23, 2017, at the Los Cristales Event Centre in Brownsville to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | celebrate this important day in their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend congratulations |

| 26 | 26 | | to Isauro and Catalina Farias on their 66th wedding anniversary; |
