                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 40
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the Kerr County Historical Commission and the citizens
 of Kerrville who celebrated the dedication of an Official Texas
 Historical Marker recognizing the achievements of Josephine Carr
 and Scott Schreiner; and
 WHEREAS, The late Josephine Carr and Scott Schreiner
 played a vital role in the growth and prosperity of Kerrville in
 the early years of the 20th century, and the Schreiner name has
 become synonymous with Kerrville; and
 WHEREAS, Such institutions as Schreiner University,
 Schreiner Goods, and the Kerrville-Schreiner Park are a reflection
 of the significant impact the family has had on the region and its
 history; and
 WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that this iconic Kerrville
 family receive special recognition for the exceptional
 contributions family members made in the development of
 Kerrville and Kerr County; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the Kerr County
 Historical Commission, the Texas Historical Commission, and the
 people of Kerrville on their commitment to preserving and
 highlighting the region's rich history and extend best wishes to
 all; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
 honor of this marker dedication.
