11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 40
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize the Kerr County Historical Commission and the citizens
44 of Kerrville who celebrated the dedication of an Official Texas
55 Historical Marker recognizing the achievements of Josephine Carr
66 and Scott Schreiner; and
77 WHEREAS, The late Josephine Carr and Scott Schreiner
88 played a vital role in the growth and prosperity of Kerrville in
99 the early years of the 20th century, and the Schreiner name has
1010 become synonymous with Kerrville; and
1111 WHEREAS, Such institutions as Schreiner University,
1212 Schreiner Goods, and the Kerrville-Schreiner Park are a reflection
1313 of the significant impact the family has had on the region and its
1414 history; and
1515 WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that this iconic Kerrville
1616 family receive special recognition for the exceptional
1717 contributions family members made in the development of
1818 Kerrville and Kerr County; now, therefore, be it
1919 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
2020 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the Kerr County
2121 Historical Commission, the Texas Historical Commission, and the
2222 people of Kerrville on their commitment to preserving and
2323 highlighting the region's rich history and extend best wishes to
2424 all; and, be it further
2525 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
2626 honor of this marker dedication.
