| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Christene Holley Cooper and Charlene Holley Chesshir |

| 4 | 4 | | on the occasion of their 90th birthdays; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Christene and Charlene Holley were born May 31, |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | 1927, to Johnnie Vanlandingham and Cleburne Casey Holley; the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | family experienced some hard times when they were young, and, at |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the age of 12, the identical twins came to live at the Hendrick |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Home for Children in Abilene; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Charlene married James Chesshir in 1946, and the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | couple raised five children; Christene was married the next year |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | to the late Stewart Cooper, and they raised four children; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | together, they have been blessed with many grandchildren and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, They have lived through times and experienced |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | events that most people only know about through history books, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and there is much to be learned from the wisdom they have gained |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | over the years; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, They recently came full circle to an important part |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of their lives when they celebrated their 90th birthday at the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Hendrick Home for Children; Christene and Charlene are beloved |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | members of their respective communities, and they are known for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | their ready laughter, their wise counsel, and their enthusiasm |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend congratulations |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | to Christene Holley Cooper and Charlene Holley Chesshir on the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | occasion of their 90th birthdays; and, be it further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them |
