5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	6	commemorates the life of United States Marine Staff Sergeant
7	7	Joshua Michael Snowden, who died in the line of duty July 10,
8	8	2017, at the age of 31; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Joshua Snowden was an exemplary young man and an
10	10	exceptional Marine who was widely admired for his many
11	11	achievements and his dedication to duty; and
12	12	WHEREAS, He was a 2004 graduate of Highland Park High
13	13	School, and he was proud to serve his country in the United States
14	14	Marine Corps; he leaves behind a legacy of valor and fidelity
15	15	that will continue to serve as an inspiration to all those who
16	16	knew him; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Snowden demonstrated unwavering
18	18	resolve and selfless courage in the performance of his duties; our
19	19	state and nation are fortunate to have men and women whose love
20	20	for their country inspires them to take up military service; and
21	21	WHEREAS, A man of strength and honor, he gave unselfishly
22	22	to others, and his patriotic spirit, his deep and abiding faith,
23	23	and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be
24	24	forgotten; and
25	25	WHEREAS, He was a devoted son and brother, and he leaves
26	26	behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and
27	27	many friends; now, therefore, be it
28	28	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
29	29	Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
30	30	condolences to the bereaved family of Joshua Michael Snowden;
31	31	and, be it further
32	32	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
33	33	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
34	34	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
35	35	memory of Joshua Michael Snowden.
