SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 50
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Jose Ruth for his many years of exceptional service to
the nation; and
WHEREAS, Jose Ruth was born in Texas on August 10, 1941; he
was a standout golfer in high school and a two-time district
medalist and state qualifier; and
WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Air Force in
1961 and served with distinction for more than 21 years; while
stationed at Offut Air Force Base in Nebraska, he met and
married his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Alice Ruth; the
couple has been blessed with three children, 10 grandchildren,
and 11 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, After completing his active duty military
service, Mr. Ruth continued to serve the nation by working at the
Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha for 23
years; he retired in 2006; and
WHEREAS, Jose Ruth has served his country with courage,
honor, and an unswerving dedication to duty, and it is truly
fitting that he receive special recognition for his exemplary
career; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jose Ruth for his
service to the nation and extend to him best wishes for continued
success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
