| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Jose Ruth for his many years of exceptional service to |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | the nation; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jose Ruth was born in Texas on August 10, 1941; he |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | was a standout golfer in high school and a two-time district |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | medalist and state qualifier; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Air Force in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1961 and served with distinction for more than 21 years; while |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | stationed at Offut Air Force Base in Nebraska, he met and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | married his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Alice Ruth; the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | couple has been blessed with three children, 10 grandchildren, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and 11 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After completing his active duty military |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | service, Mr. Ruth continued to serve the nation by working at the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha for 23 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | years; he retired in 2006; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Jose Ruth has served his country with courage, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | honor, and an unswerving dedication to duty, and it is truly |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | fitting that he receive special recognition for his exemplary |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | career; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jose Ruth for his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | service to the nation and extend to him best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
