| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 3 | 3 | | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Jim and Sandra |

| 4 | 4 | | Lassiter of Paris, Texas, celebrated this joyous milestone in |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | their marriage on July 1, 2017; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, On that memorable day in 1967, Jim Lassiter and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the former Sandra Skidmore were joined in matrimony in a ceremony |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | officiated by the Reverend Jerry Moore at the Paris Junior |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | College DeShong Chapel; over the years, the couple have been |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | blessed with a treasured family that includes their two children, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Mendy Lassiter Ruthart and her husband, Bill, and Ryan Lassiter |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and his wife, Ashley, as well as their five grandchildren, Drew |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and Hayden Bush and Ben, Ava, and Luke Lassiter; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Both alumni of East Texas State University, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Mr. Lassiter enjoyed a career as comptroller at Oliver Rubber |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Company before retiring in 1999, while Ms. Lassiter worked as an |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | educator with the Paris Independent School District until her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | retirement in 2001; active in their community, the couple have |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | been valued congregants of East Paris Baptist Church since 1968; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Ms. Lassiter have shared five decades of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jim and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Sandra Lassiter on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
