5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
6	6	of Weslaco in mourning the loss of Noe Hernandez, who made the
7	7	ultimate sacrifice for his country on June 17, 2017, at the age of
8	8	26; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Noe Hernandez was a graduate of Weslaco High
10	10	School, where he was a member of the Army Reserve Officers'
11	11	Training Corps; he went on to serve with distinction in the
12	12	United States Navy, and he died bravely in the line of duty while
13	13	stationed as a gunner's mate on the USS Fitzgerald; and
14	14	WHEREAS, This devoted sailor was admired throughout the
15	15	community for his kindness, his inexhaustible positivity, and
16	16	his commitment to the patriotic ideals that led him to serve his
17	17	country; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife,
19	19	Dora Hernandez; his son, Leon Hernandez; his mother, Virginia
20	20	Yolanda Hernandez Lozano; his sister, Mireya Hernandez Alvarez;
21	21	and a host of friends and loved ones who were privileged to share
22	22	in his life; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Noe Hernandez was a dedicated and courageous
24	24	sailor who represented the highest ideals of service on behalf of
25	25	his fellow citizens, and he will long be remembered with respect
26	26	and admiration by all who were privileged to share in his life;
27	27	now, therefore, be it
28	28	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
29	29	Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences
30	30	to the bereaved family of Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Noe Hernandez;
31	31	and, be it further
32	32	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
33	33	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
34	34	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
35	35	memory of Noe Hernandez.
