| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Matthew Dillon Atkinson of Boy Scout Troop 1114 in |

| 4 | 4 | | Magnolia for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; this fine young |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | man joined the elite corps of Eagles recently and is being |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | presented the coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | small percentage of boys in the Boy Scout program attain the rank |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of Eagle Scout; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | promise, Matthew advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Scout; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | through planning, developing, and conducting a service project |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | that benefited his community; he is truly a shining example to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | his fellow Scouts and the young people of Texas; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Matthew has brought |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | his state; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Matthew Dillon |

| 23 | 23 | | Atkinson on earning this prestigious honor and congratulate him |
