| 6 | 6 | | memories of Jimmie McCormack of Henderson, who passed away on |

| 7 | 7 | | May 22, 2017, at the age of 89; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born to Randy and Irene McCormack in Long Branch |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | on December 16, 1927, Jimmie McCormack grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companionship of two siblings, Willie Mae and George; he went on |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to enjoy a successful career with Henderson Clay Products that |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | spanned four decades; he was also a rancher and could often be |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | found tending to his farmland and cattle; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. McCormack was actively involved with the local |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | chamber of commerce, and he received the Ambassador of the Year |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Award; furthermore, he held membership with the Pine Hill Lodge |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | No. 95 AF&AM and Clinton Lodge No. 23 AF&AM, and he was a 32nd |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | degree Mason with the Scottish Rite Valley of Waco; sustained by a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | deep faith, he was a valued congregant of First Baptist Church for |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | nearly seven decades; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. McCormack and his wife, Melba, shared a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | rewarding marriage that spanned 68 years, and together they |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | raised two children, Randy and Nancy; with the passing years, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | their family grew to include their granddaughter, Megan, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | step-granddaughter, Ashley, great-grandchildren, Sloane and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Brooks, and step-great-grandchildren, Ashton and Beckham; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Jimmie McCormack lived a life that was rich in the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | intangibles that matter most, and his loss is keenly felt by all |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | who were fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | of Jimmie McCormack and extend heartfelt sympathy to his |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | so in memory of Jimmie McCormack. |
