| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Judy Evans Jordan retired as the administrative |

| 3 | 3 | | assistant to the Harrison County Commissioners Court on |

| 4 | 4 | | June 30, 2017, drawing to a close an exceptional career in public |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | service that spanned more than four decades; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, After serving in a secretarial capacity at a wood |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | preserving company, Judy Jordan accepted in 1975 the newly |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | created post of administrative assistant for the Harrison County |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Commissioners Court; over the course of her distinguished tenure |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in that office, she worked for 27 commissioners, 7 county judges, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and 20 different commissioners courts and handled myriad vital |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | tasks, from addressing the needs of constituents to researching |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | statutes and laws and gathering information for the annual fiscal |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | budget; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Highly regarded for her professionalism and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | efficiency, Judy Jordan earned a reputation for going above and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | beyond in the performance of her duties, and she played an |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | instrumental role in helping each commissioner fulfill their |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | respective goals; moreover, she served as a mentor to members of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the court by sharing with them her extensive knowledge of county |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | government and of the court's institutional history; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, For more than 40 years, Judy Jordan has served the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | citizens of Harrison County with dedication, integrity, and a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | boundless commitment to excellence, and she may indeed reflect |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | with pride on her many accomplishments as she embarks on the next |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Judy Evans |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Jordan on her retirement as the Harrison County Commissioners |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Court administrative assistant and extend to her sincere best |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
