11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 91
22 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
33 recognize Bill Murphey, who has retired after 20 years of
44 outstanding service as the Brown County Veterans Service
55 officer; and
66 WHEREAS, Billy Murphey moved to Brownwood after serving the
77 country with distinction for 20 years as a member of the United
88 States Marine Corps; he retired from the military in 1995; and
99 WHEREAS, Over the course of his career in veterans service,
1010 Mr. Murphey played a vital role in helping the area's combat
1111 veterans navigate the process of receiving their Veterans
1212 Affairs benefits and transitioning into civilian life; and
1313 WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he was also instrumental
1414 in the completion of the Central Texas Veterans' Memorial, a
1515 project which had lain dormant for several years; and
1616 WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and
1717 admired by veterans and area citizens, and his presence as the
1818 Brown County Veterans Service officer will be greatly missed;
1919 now, therefore, be it
2020 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
2121 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Bill Murphey on
2222 his exceptional service to the people of Brown County as veterans
2323 service officer and extend to him best wishes for continued
2424 success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
2525 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2626 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
