85 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
96 AN ACT
107 relating to the Medicaid eligibility of certain women after a
118 pregnancy.
129 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1310 SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended
1411 by adding Subsection (l-1) to read as follows:
1512 (l-1) The commission shall continue to provide medical
1613 assistance to a woman who is eligible for medical assistance for
1714 pregnant women for a period of not less than 12 months following the
18- date the woman delivers or experiences a miscarriage.
15+ date the woman delivers.
1916 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
2017 a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a
2118 federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision,
2219 the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or
2320 authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the
2421 waiver or authorization is granted.
2522 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
