12 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended | |
14 | 11 | by adding Subsection (l-1) to read as follows: | |
15 | 12 | (l-1) The commission shall continue to provide medical | |
16 | 13 | assistance to a woman who is eligible for medical assistance for | |
17 | 14 | pregnant women for a period of not less than 12 months following the | |
18 | - | date the woman delivers | |

19 | 16 | SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act | |
20 | 17 | a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a | |
21 | 18 | federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision, | |
22 | 19 | the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or | |
23 | 20 | authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the | |
24 | 21 | waiver or authorization is granted. | |
25 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
