86 AN ACT
97 relating to the use of the compensatory education allotment for a
108 school district's school guidance and counseling program or
119 counseling or social work services.
1210 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1311 SECTION 1. Section 42.152, Education Code, is amended by
1412 adding Subsection (c-6) to read as follows:
1513 (c-6) Notwithstanding Subsection (c), funds allocated under
1614 this section may be used to fund:
17- (1) services provided by a school counselor through a
18- district's school guidance and counseling program under Subchapter
19- A, Chapter 33;
20- (2) counseling services provided to a district by a
21- licensed professional counselor, as defined by Section 503.002,
22- Occupations Code; or
23- (3) social work services provided to a district by a
24- licensed social worker, as defined by Section 505.002, Occupations
25- Code.
15+ (1) a district's school guidance and counseling
16+ program under Subchapter A, Chapter 33; or
17+ (2) counseling or social work services provided to a
18+ district by a licensed social worker, as defined by Section
19+ 505.002, Occupations Code, or a licensed professional counselor, as
20+ defined by Section 503.002, Occupations Code.
2621 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
