| 6 | 13 | | have been in the conservatorship of a state agency responsible for |
|---|
| 7 | 14 | | providing child protective services. |

| 8 | 15 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 16 | | SECTION 1. Section 501.023(b), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 10 | 17 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 18 | | (b) Not later than December 31 of each year, the department |
|---|
| 12 | 19 | | shall submit a report to the governor, the lieutenant governor, |
|---|
| 13 | 20 | | [the speaker of the house of representatives,] and each member of |
|---|
| 14 | 21 | | the legislature and shall make the report available to the public on |
|---|
| 15 | 22 | | the department's Internet website [standing committee having |
|---|
| 16 | 23 | | primary jurisdiction over the department]. The report must |
|---|
| 17 | 24 | | summarize statistical information concerning the total number of |
|---|
| 18 | 25 | | inmates who have at any time been in the conservatorship of a state |
|---|
| 19 | 26 | | agency responsible for providing child protective services, |
|---|
| 20 | 27 | | including, disaggregated by age, the number of inmates who have not |
|---|
| 21 | 28 | | previously served a term of imprisonment. |

| 22 | 29 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
