411 AN ACT
512 relating to an annual report concerning the number of inmates who
613 have been in the conservatorship of a state agency responsible for
714 providing child protective services.
815 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
916 SECTION 1. Section 501.023(b), Government Code, is amended
1017 to read as follows:
1118 (b) Not later than December 31 of each year, the department
1219 shall submit a report to the governor, the lieutenant governor,
1320 [the speaker of the house of representatives,] and each member of
1421 the legislature and shall make the report available to the public on
1522 the department's Internet website [standing committee having
1623 primary jurisdiction over the department]. The report must
1724 summarize statistical information concerning the total number of
1825 inmates who have at any time been in the conservatorship of a state
1926 agency responsible for providing child protective services,
2027 including, disaggregated by age, the number of inmates who have not
2128 previously served a term of imprisonment.
2229 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
