| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 130.302, Education Code, as added by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Chapter 766 (S.B. 2118), Acts of the 85th Legislature, Regular |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Session, 2017, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 130.302. BACCALAUREATE DEGREE PROGRAMS; GENERAL |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | AUTHORIZATION. The coordinating board may authorize public junior |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | colleges to offer baccalaureate degree programs in any field as |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | provided by this subchapter. Offering a baccalaureate degree |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | program under this subchapter does not otherwise alter the role and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | mission of a public junior college. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. Sections 130.303(b) and 130.306(a) and (b), |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Education Code, as added by Chapter 766 (S.B. 2118), Acts of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 85th Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, are repealed. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
