| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 2054.376(a), Government Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (a) This subchapter applies to all information resources | |
| 14 | 14 | technologies[, other than telecommunications service, advanced | |
| 15 | 15 | communications services, or information service, as those terms are | |
| 16 | 16 | defined by 47 U.S.C. Section 153,] that are: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) obtained by a state agency using state money; | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) used by a state agency; or | |
| 19 | 19 | (3) used by a participating local government. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. Section 2054.378, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 21 | 21 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 22 | 22 | (c) The department, on a cost-sharing basis, may provide | |
| 23 | 23 | telecommunications service, advanced communications services, or | |
| 24 | 24 | information service, as those terms are defined by 47 U.S.C. | |
| 25 | 25 | Section 153, through a statewide technology center under this | |
| 26 | 26 | subchapter. | |
| 27 | 27 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
