A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a website operated by the Public Utility Commission of
Texas that enables customers to choose retail electric service
plans and providers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 39, Utilities Code, is
amended by adding Section 39.113 to read as follows:
Sec. 39.113. SERVICE PLAN WEBSITE PROHIBITED. The
commission may not operate or contract with another person to
operate a website that lists retail electric service plans or
providers for the purpose of enabling or assisting a customer's
selection of a retail electric service plan or provider.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
