11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 24, Government Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 24.6001 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 24.6001. 457TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (MONTGOMERY COUNTY). | |
15 | 15 | The 457th Judicial District is composed of Montgomery County. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Section 43.105(a), Government Code, is amended | |
17 | 17 | to read as follows: | |
18 | 18 | (a) The voters of Montgomery County elect a district | |
19 | 19 | attorney for the 9th Judicial District who represents the state in | |
20 | 20 | that district court only in that county. The district attorney also | |
21 | 21 | acts as district attorney for the 410th and 457th Judicial | |
22 | 22 | Districts [District in Montgomery County]. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. The 457th Judicial District is created on the | |
24 | 24 | effective date of this Act. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
