66 AN ACT
77 relating to the funding of dual credit courses provided by public
88 institutions of higher education.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 61.059, Education Code, is amended by
1111 adding Subsection (s) to read as follows:
1212 (s) In devising its funding formulas under this section and
1313 Section 130.003 for dual credit courses, including courses for
1414 joint high school and junior college credit under Section 130.008,
1515 the board shall ensure that an institution of higher education
1616 receives the same level of funding for providing a dual credit
1717 course as every other institution of higher education receives for
1818 providing the same course or a substantially similar course.
1919 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
