| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 61.059, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (s) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (s) In devising its funding formulas under this section and | |
| 13 | 13 | Section 130.003 for dual credit courses, including courses for | |
| 14 | 14 | joint high school and junior college credit under Section 130.008, | |
| 15 | 15 | the board shall ensure that an institution of higher education | |
| 16 | 16 | receives the same level of funding for providing a dual credit | |
| 17 | 17 | course as every other institution of higher education receives for | |
| 18 | 18 | providing the same course or a substantially similar course. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
