A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to designating November 7 as Victims of Communism Day.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 662.071 to read as follows:
Sec. 662.071. VICTIMS OF COMMUNISM DAY. (a) November 7 is
Victims of Communism Day in memory of the more than 100 million
people who died and countless others who suffered under communist
regimes.
(b) Victims of Communism Day may be regularly observed by
appropriate ceremonies and activities.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
