55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the eligibility of a person to serve on the appraisal
88 review board of an appraisal district.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 6.412, Tax Code, is amended by amending
1111 Subsection (e) and adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
1212 (e) Except as provided by Subsection (f), a [A] person who
1313 has served for all or part of three consecutive terms as a board
1414 member on an appraisal review board is ineligible to serve on the
1515 appraisal review board during a term that begins on the next January
1616 1 following the third of those consecutive terms.
1717 (f) A person who has served for all or part of three
1818 consecutive terms as a board member on the appraisal review board of
1919 an appraisal district established in a county with a population of
2020 550,000 or more is ineligible to serve on the appraisal review board
2121 during the two-year period that begins on the next January 1
2222 following the third of those consecutive terms.
2323 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act does not
2424 affect the eligibility of a person serving on an appraisal review
2525 board immediately before the effective date of this Act to continue
2626 to serve on the board for the term to which the member was
2727 appointed.
2828 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect January 1, 2020.
