| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 11, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 11.005 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 11.005. USE OF RELOCATABLE EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES. |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (a) In this section, "relocatable educational facility" has the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | meaning assigned by Section 1202.004, Occupations Code. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (b) This section applies only to a school district in which: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) the district's administrative offices are located |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in a building that is not a relocatable educational facility; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (2) student instruction takes place in a relocatable |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | educational facility. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (c) A school district subject to this section shall: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (1) move the district's administrative offices to a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | relocatable educational facility; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (2) convert the building in which the district's |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | administrative offices were located into classrooms for student |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | instruction. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2019-2020 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | school year. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
