10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 801.207, Occupations Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (b-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (b), the board shall | |
14 | 14 | provide a copy of each complaint to the license holder who is the | |
15 | 15 | subject of the complaint not later than the 14th day after the date | |
16 | 16 | the complaint is filed with the board, unless providing a copy of | |
17 | 17 | the complaint would jeopardize an investigation. The board may not | |
18 | 18 | require the license holder to request a copy of the complaint. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. Section 801.207(b-1), Occupations Code, as added | |
20 | 20 | by this Act, applies only to a complaint filed with the State Board | |
21 | 21 | of Veterinary Medical Examiners on or after the effective date of | |
22 | 22 | this Act. A complaint filed with the board before the effective date | |
23 | 23 | of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the | |
24 | 24 | complaint was filed, and the former law is continued in effect for | |
25 | 25 | that purpose. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
