9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 1301, Occupations Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 1301.059 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 1301.059. PLUMBING ON CERTAIN PRIVATE PROPERTY. (a) A | |
13 | 13 | person is not required to be licensed under this chapter to perform | |
14 | 14 | plumbing work consisting of installing, servicing, or repairing | |
15 | 15 | service mains, service lines, appurtenances, equipment, or | |
16 | 16 | appliances that provide water, sewer, or storm drainage services on | |
17 | 17 | private property in an area that extends from a public right of way | |
18 | 18 | or public easement to not less than five feet from a building or | |
19 | 19 | structure. | |
20 | 20 | (b) This section does not apply to plumbing work performed | |
21 | 21 | on private property designated for use as a one-family or | |
22 | 22 | two-family dwelling. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
