7 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

8 | 14 | | SECTION 1. The heading to Section 159.055, Local Government |

9 | 15 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |

10 | 16 | | Sec. 159.055. PUBLIC ACCESS TO STATEMENTS AND RELATED |

12 | 18 | | SECTION 2. Section 159.055(b), Local Government Code, is |

13 | 19 | | amended to read as follows: |

16 | 22 | | officer's or candidate's home address and the names of the officer's |

19 | 25 | | from the financial statement before the statement or record is made |

20 | 26 | | available to a member of the public. |

21 | 27 | | SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act to Section |

22 | 28 | | 159.055(b), Local Government Code, applies to information included |

23 | 29 | | in a financial statement regardless of whether the statement was |

24 | 30 | | filed before the effective date of this Act. |

25 | 31 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |

26 | 32 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
27 | 33 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
28 | 34 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
29 | 35 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
