55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the use of proceeds from criminal asset forfeiture to
88 provide services to domestic victims of trafficking.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Article 59.06, Code of Criminal Procedure, is
1111 amended by adding Subsection (t) to read as follows:
1212 (t) As a specific exception to Subsection (c) that the funds
1313 described by that subsection be used only for the official purposes
1414 of the attorney representing the state or for law enforcement
1515 purposes, the attorney representing the state or the head of a law
1616 enforcement agency, as applicable, may use any portion of the gross
1717 amount credited to the attorney's or agency's special fund under
1818 Subsection (c) to cover the costs of a contract with a municipal or
1919 county program to provide services to domestic victims of
2020 trafficking.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
