| 6 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 7 | 13 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is | |
| 8 | 14 | amended by adding Section 662.071 to read as follows: | |
| 9 | 15 | Sec. 662.071. SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS DAY. (a) January 28 | |
| 10 | 16 | is Sexual Assault Survivors Day to bring awareness to the issue of | |
| 11 | 17 | sexual assault and to recognize the courage of survivors throughout | |
| 12 | 18 | this state. | |
| 13 | 19 | (b) Sexual Assault Survivors Day may be regularly observed | |
| 14 | 20 | by appropriate ceremonies and activities. | |
| 15 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | |
