| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Chapter 1103, Insurance Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subchapter E to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | SUBCHAPTER E. DISCLOSURE OF BENEFICIARY | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 1103.201. APPLICABILITY OF SUBCHAPTER. This subchapter | |
| 14 | 14 | applies to a life insurance company that: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) issues or delivers a life insurance policy in this | |
| 16 | 16 | state; or | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) is organized under the laws of this state. | |
| 18 | 18 | Sec. 1103.202. FUNERAL DIRECTORS. If a funeral director | |
| 19 | 19 | licensed under Chapter 651, Occupations Code, is directing an | |
| 20 | 20 | insured's funeral, a life insurance company shall disclose the | |
| 21 | 21 | beneficiary of the insured's life insurance policy to the director | |
| 22 | 22 | on the director's request. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
