9+ A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
410 AN ACT
511 relating to the indigent status of a person for purposes of the
612 driver responsibility program.
713 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
814 SECTION 1. Section 708.158, Transportation Code, is amended
915 by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
1016 (c) A person may provide information to the court, as
1117 described by Subsection (b), to establish that the person is
1218 indigent at any time during a period the person is enrolled in an
1319 installment plan under Section 708.153.
1420 SECTION 2. Section 708.158(c), Transportation Code, as
1521 added by this Act, applies to any surcharge pending on the effective
1622 date of this Act, regardless of whether the surcharge was imposed
1723 before that date.
1824 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
