| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 141.032, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (b-1) to read as | |
| 12 | 12 | follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (b) Except as provided by Subsections (b-1) and | |
| 14 | 14 | [Subsection] (c), the review shall be completed not later than the | |
| 15 | 15 | fifth business day after the date the application is received by the | |
| 16 | 16 | authority. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b-1) If an application is submitted fewer than five | |
| 18 | 18 | business days before the applicable filing deadline, the review | |
| 19 | 19 | shall be completed not later than the first Friday after the filing | |
| 20 | 20 | deadline. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect January 1, 2020. |
