9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 301, Occupations Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 301.262 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 301.262. EXPEDITED LICENSE PROCEDURES FOR CERTAIN | |
13 | 13 | APPLICANTS. (a) The board shall establish procedures to expedite | |
14 | 14 | the issuance of a temporary license under Section 301.260 and to | |
15 | 15 | expedite the processing of an application for a permanent license | |
16 | 16 | under this subchapter for an applicant who is licensed as a | |
17 | 17 | registered nurse or vocational nurse by another state and who is the | |
18 | 18 | spouse of a person who is serving on active duty as a member of the | |
19 | 19 | armed forces of the United States. | |
20 | 20 | (b) The board shall specify in the procedures established | |
21 | 21 | under Subsection (a) the appropriate documentation to establish an | |
22 | 22 | applicant's status as a spouse of a person who is serving on active | |
23 | 23 | duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
