10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 42.006, Education Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Subsection (a-10) to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (a-10) The commissioner by rule shall require each school | |
14 | 14 | district and open-enrollment charter school to annually report | |
15 | 15 | through the Public Education Information Management System the | |
16 | 16 | number of reported incidents of bullying that have occurred at each | |
17 | 17 | campus. The commissioner's rules shall require a district or | |
18 | 18 | school to specify the number of incidents of bullying that included | |
19 | 19 | cyberbullying. The agency shall maintain the information provided | |
20 | 20 | in accordance with this subsection. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2019-2020 | |
22 | 22 | school year. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
24 | 24 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
25 | 25 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
26 | 26 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
27 | 27 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
