| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 39, Education Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 39.059 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 39.059. DATA TRANSPARENCY. Before the initial release | |
| 14 | 14 | of academic accountability ratings for a school year, the agency | |
| 15 | 15 | shall provide to each school district a copy of all source data as | |
| 16 | 16 | submitted to the agency by an entity other than the district that | |
| 17 | 17 | the agency considers in: | |
| 18 | 18 | (1) determining the district's accreditation status | |
| 19 | 19 | under Section 39.052; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (2) assigning performance ratings for the district or | |
| 21 | 21 | the district's campuses under Section 39.054. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2019-2020 | |
| 23 | 23 | school year. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
