| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 405.018(d), Government Code, is amended | |
| 11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (d) [The secretary of state shall set and charge a fee for | |
| 13 | 13 | access to information under Subsection (a) in an amount reasonable | |
| 14 | 14 | and necessary to cover the costs of establishing and administering | |
| 15 | 15 | the system under that subsection.] The secretary of state may | |
| 16 | 16 | assess a reasonable fee for a transfer of software under Subsection | |
| 17 | 17 | (b). | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
