8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 545.104(b), Transportation Code, is | |
10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (b) An operator intending to turn a vehicle right or left | |
12 | 12 | from a lane that is not marked as requiring a turn in the direction | |
13 | 13 | of the intended turn shall signal continuously for not less than the | |
14 | 14 | last 100 feet of movement of the vehicle before the turn. | |
15 | 15 | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to | |
16 | 16 | an offense committed on or after the effective date of this Act. An | |
17 | 17 | offense committed before the effective date of this Act is governed | |
18 | 18 | by the law in effect on the date the offense was committed, and the | |
19 | 19 | former law is continued in effect for that purpose. For purposes of | |
20 | 20 | this section, an offense was committed before the effective date of | |
21 | 21 | this Act if any element of the offense occurred before that date. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
