66 AN ACT
77 relating to the use of a turn signal before turning a vehicle.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 545.104(b), Transportation Code, is
1010 amended to read as follows:
1111 (b) An operator intending to turn a vehicle right or left
1212 from a lane that is not marked as requiring a turn in the direction
1313 of the intended turn shall signal continuously for not less than the
1414 last 100 feet of movement of the vehicle before the turn.
1515 SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
1616 an offense committed on or after the effective date of this Act. An
1717 offense committed before the effective date of this Act is governed
1818 by the law in effect on the date the offense was committed, and the
1919 former law is continued in effect for that purpose. For purposes of
2020 this section, an offense was committed before the effective date of
2121 this Act if any element of the offense occurred before that date.
2222 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
