| 6 | 12 | | certain documents filed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage |

| 8 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Section 101.69, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | Sec. 101.69. FALSE STATEMENT. Except as provided in |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | Section 103.05(d), a person who knowingly makes a false statement |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | or false representation in an application for a permit or license or |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | in a statement, report, or other instrument to be filed with the |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | commission and required to be sworn commits an offense punishable |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for not |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | less than 2 nor more than 10 years. |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|---|
| 19 | 25 | | to an offense committed on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 20 | 26 | | An offense committed before the effective date of this Act is |
|---|
| 21 | 27 | | governed by the law in effect on the date the offense was committed, |
|---|
| 22 | 28 | | and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. For |
|---|
| 23 | 29 | | purposes of this section, an offense was committed before the |
|---|
| 24 | 30 | | effective date of this Act if any element of the offense occurred |
|---|
| 25 | 31 | | before that date. |

| 26 | 32 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
