66 AN ACT
77 relating to the renewal of a plumbing license, endorsement, or
88 registration.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 1301.401, Occupations Code, is amended
1111 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 1301.401. [ANNUAL] RENEWAL REQUIRED. (a) A license or
1313 registration under this chapter is valid for one or two years as
1414 determined by board rule [year]. On payment of the required fee, a
1515 license may be renewed [annually].
1616 (b) The board by rule shall establish the requirements for
1717 renewing a license, endorsement, or registration under this chapter
1818 and may adopt a system under which licenses, endorsements, and
1919 registrations expire on various dates during the year.
2020 (c) An endorsement issued under Section 1301.356,
2121 1301.3565, or 1301.357 expires on the date the master plumber or
2222 journeyman plumber license of the endorsement holder expires. Any
2323 continuing education requirement established by board rule and
2424 applicable to an endorsement issued under this chapter must be
2525 completed before the endorsement holder may renew the endorsement.
2626 SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date
2727 of this Act, the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners shall adopt
2828 rules to implement Section 1301.401, Occupations Code, as amended
2929 by this Act.
3030 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
