55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to a study of the effects of building requirements on the
88 use of water conservation technology.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. (a) The Texas State University Meadows Center
1111 for Water and the Environment shall study whether state and local
1212 building codes and other requirements in this state hinder the use
1313 of water conservation technology, including xeriscaping, greywater
1414 use, reclaimed water use, and rainwater harvesting and collection.
1515 (b) Not later than December 1, 2020, the Texas State
1616 University Meadows Center for Water and the Environment shall
1717 submit to the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the speaker of
1818 the house of representatives a report on the findings of the study.
1919 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
