9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. (a) The Texas State University Meadows Center | |
11 | 11 | for Water and the Environment shall study whether state and local | |
12 | 12 | building codes and other requirements in this state hinder the use | |
13 | 13 | of water conservation technology, including xeriscaping, greywater | |
14 | 14 | use, reclaimed water use, and rainwater harvesting and collection. | |
15 | 15 | (b) Not later than December 1, 2020, the Texas State | |
16 | 16 | University Meadows Center for Water and the Environment shall | |
17 | 17 | submit to the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the speaker of | |
18 | 18 | the house of representatives a report on the findings of the study. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
